Step Direction Control (SDC)
Overview
With the SDC controller we offer a low level control system which allows you to use SmarAct’s positioners with a standard stepper motor controller. The standard inputs of the SDC controller are step pluses and direction such that you can profit from the performance of our positioners with minor changes in your control structure. For every step pulse a closed-loop controlled position increment is performed in the specified direction.
Features
- Stepper motor emulation: positioner + SDC controller = stepper motor behaviour
- Step-Width: adjustable between 1 nm and 50 μm (via DIP switches)
- Integrated closed-loop mode: for exact position increments
- Virtual limit switch: by internal sensor, no dedicated limit switch necessary
